Nordic Energy Technology Perspectives 2012 Ea Energy Analyses is assisting IEA and Nordic Energy Research in preparing the publication, ”Nordic Energy Technology Perspectives 2012”. The publication builds on the International Energy Agency’s (IEA) Energy Technology Perspectives (ETP), and draw on the Nordic research institutions competences in formulating perspectives based on their particular knowledge regarding energy technology in the Nordic countries and the local conditions in the countries. The publication will be put out by the end of 2012 and is published in co-operation with IEA and the Nordic Council of Ministers. A future CO2 neutral Nordic energy productionThe Nordic energy systems are facing a number of challenges and prioritizations towards 2050 in relation to future development tracks. One of the main challenges is a transition of the system to containing a much larger share of renewable energy. Today the Nordic decision makers are lacking broadly founded guidelines to guide the development of the Nordic energy systems towards 2050. The lack of common guidelines and references make it difficult to identify the optimal development tracks for the energy systems in the region, and result in the decision makers not being properly prepared to formulate the ideal framework conditions. The aim of the Energy Perspectives is to shed light on a future with a CO2 neutral Nordic energy production and to identify and communicate possible development tracks. Ea Energy Analyses together with the Techincal University of Denmark’s climate center constitute the Danish working group in Nordic ETP. Last update 03-Feb-2012 |
