Potential Chinese wind power projects

Together with Danish Energy Management, Enecore Carbon and Azure International, Ea Energy Analyses has analysed the Chinese wind sector with the specific objective to identify wind energy projects potentially relevant for IFC investment or other financial cooperation.

Project developers and framework conditions

The project was carried out in two phases. The first phase comprised a desktop study in order to produce a long-list of project developers and to investigate the existing framework for wind power projects in China, including the regional wind regimes, the grid capacity and tariff regimes. The desktop study also examined the performance of the wind turbines from different manufactures.

Concrete projects identified

The second phase included interviews with relevant developers in order to identify concrete projects relevant for IFC.

The project was carried out for IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, and was completed in November 2010.
