Paths to a fossil-free energy supply

It is possible to convert the electricity and heating system in the Nordic countries and Germany to CO2-neutral energy supply with wind power, hydro power and biomass as key technologies. This is the conclusion of an analysis performed by Ea Energy Analyses for DONG Energy and Vestas Wind Systems. Furthermore the analysis point out that large investments in transmission interconnectors between the Nordic countries and the rest of Europe would be financial benificial and make it more attractive to increase the exploitation of the major wind power resources in the North for the benefit of the entire region.
