The first Chinese Balmorel User Group meeting took place in Beijing on 25 March 2011, and the first international Balmorel User Group meeting was held in Copenhagen on 17-18 January 2011. BALREPA - Baltic Rotating Energy Planning Academy

One of the outcomes of the project "Energy Perspectives for the Baltic Sea Region - Setting an agenda for the future" (2009) is a recommendation to establish a common regional training programme to strengthen the capacities in energy planning among officials at local and national levels. As a consequence, BASREC and the Nordic Council of Ministers have launched BALREPA - the Baltic Rotating Energy Planning Academy. Read more

Presentation of the study "Energy Policy Strategies of the Baltic Sea Region for the Post-Kyoto Period" at COP17

On 8 December 2011, 18:00-20:00, the study “Energy Policy Strategies of the Baltic Sea Region for the Post-Kyoto Period”, will be presented at the COP17 in Durban, South Africa.

 

The study shows that through cooperation in the Baltic Sea Region it is possible to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from electricity and district heating generation by close to 100 % towards 2050. The study is commissioned by the Baltic Sea Regional Energy Cooperation, BASREC.
