Updating assumptions to fuel price projections

Location | December 2013 - July 2014

The Danish Energy Agency (DEA) assess the future fuel prices periodically for the use of projections and economic analyses, and a part of that work is updating the assumptions to fuel price projections, which Ea Energy Analyses prepared for the DEA and Energinet.dk.

In addition to the update, the aim of this project was to describe the method and source related basis for a convergence process towards the World Energy Outlook published by International Energy Agency (IEA).

A method to preparation of a convergence process from the current market prices to the price scenario in the World Energy Outlook’s New Policy Scenario was being developed. The objective was to achieve convergence between short and long term, as well as to provide guidance on how to determinate an upper and lower sensitivity around the central estimate.

The work included updating a link between international prices and socioeconomic product prices. The socioeconomic supplement covers for example transport, transmission and distribution.
