In 2012 VEKS acquired an older 100 MW-input biomass CHP plant from DONG Energy (now Ørsted). The plant needed substantial refurbishment and other investments, in order to run effectively and within the emissions limits.
Ea Energy Analyses had the task of developing a detailed investment and dispatch strategy for Køge Biomass CHP towards 2030. Deliverables included a versatile spreadsheet, making current management able to evaluate future investment opportunities by quick business-case analysis.
The project was carried out in close cooperation with the direction and employees of VEKS; this included three workshops throughout the project. Following on from the project, VEKS has since started new projects in relation to specific investments in the plant.
