The project supported the preparation of the 15th Five-Year Plan (FYP) for the power sector in Guizhou province, China by establishing a robust analytical foundation for decision-makers. The project combined technical model development, scenario analysis, and capacity building. The results provide a transparent, open-data-based modelling platform that can be further refined with local data and used by provincial stakeholders for long-term power system planning and future policy development. The model was used in training sessions with local stakeholders, enabling hands-on use for future planning.
