The heat transmission company TVIS, covering the four municipalities Fredericia, Kolding, Middelfart, and Vejle, owns and operates the overall district heating network in the area. Presently, the district heating in the TVIS-area is sourced from biomass fired CHP, waste incineration, and industrial surplus heat.
As a part of a strategy process, TVIS has set up various scenarios for the development of the district heating system, where a range of options for the future heat supply is explored, including the role of biomass, waste, surplus heat, and new electricity-based technologies such as electric boilers and heat pumps.
For use in the strategic work, TVIS requested that Ea Energy Analyses contributed with an overview of relevant current and future frameworks for the district heating, and to give input on the development of important economic parameters, including fuel prices, electricity prices, CO2 prices, electricity and gas tariffs, as well as price cealings for surplus heat.
The project ran from March to September 2024.
