In March 2026, Ea Energy Analysis delivered a three-week course on energy systems modelling using Balmorel, in collaboration with Energy Modelling Lab. The course brought together participants from eight countries, including China, Colombia, Kenya, Morocco, and South Africa.
Through a combination of theory, hands-on exercises, and group work, participants gained practical experience in building and applying energy system models, as well as analysing the impacts of energy policies. The training was supported by a cloud-based modelling setup and Ea’s in-house tools, including the GDX Tool and BERSERQ.
The course was funded by the Danida Fellowship Centre (DFC) under the DFC Scholarship Programme, supporting capacity building in energy modelling, planning, and policy-making.
