Regulation and policy measures | October 2010 - March 2012

Ea Energy Analyses has provided assistance to the South African government on developing a regulatory framework that promotes investments from IPP’s in renewable energy. This entailed providing technical assistance at all levels viz. policy, regulation and governance as well as assisting in the procurement process.

The technical assistance included reviewing the regulatory environment and proposing changes that will remove ambiguity and discriminatory practice, reviewing options for establishing an Independent Systems Operator, developing project documentation including power purchase agreements, transmission connection agreements, assisting in the procurement of RE projects through a request for proposals, undertaking a review of the Integrated Resource Plan and coordinating relations between government entities and electricity utilities.

Ea Energy Analyses provided assistance to the National Treasury from October 2010 to March 2012.
