Ea Energy Analyses was leader of a consortium consisting of the Danish TSO, Energinet.dk, and a DSO, SEAS-NVE, which trained Eskom engineers in methodologies for connecting wind power plants to the grid.
The skills development programme was designed to expose Eskom engineers to a detailed training programme on the grid connection of wind turbines, based on case studies of individual projects in Denmark, and project applications for grid connection in South Africa. The aim was to provide Eskom engineers with the ability to provide accurate budget quotes to RE projects applying for grid connection under the RE-IPP Procurement Programme. System operations, grid codes and system planning were also included in the training programme.
