Renewable energy heating supply in the Shanxi province

China | January 2013 - December 2014

A demonstration project was set up in ShanXi province, China that tried to maximise the contribution of wind power to satisfy regional district heating demand. A wind farm was to be sited in the ShanXi province, and the necessary technological and regulatory solutions were to be put in place in order to ensure maximised wind power penetration in the energy system. Ea Energy Analyses was involved in the analysis and simulation process of the energy system, transmission capabilities and the regulatory environment.

The project was managed in coordination with Energinet.dk, Datang Shanxi Renewable Power Co. Ltd. and China Hydropower and Water Resources Planning and Design General Institute. The project was supported by the Sino-Danish Renewable Energy Development (RED) programme.
