The characteristics of wind power production have changed significantly during the last couple of years, as wind turbines grow larger and the ratio of swept area to generator size changes. This development in technology is expected to continue and is crucial for the valuation of wind power generation when modelling the energy system.
Ea Energy Analyses has worked on this topic for a long period of time and has modelled the conditions in Balmorel. Based on this work, Ea Energy Analyses aided Danish Energy in an update of the Balmorel model with improved modelling and representation of wind and sun, as well as opportunities for defining various restrictions and policies.
