On behalf of the Danish Energy Agency and Energinet Elsystemansvar A/S, Ea Energy Analyses did a screening of different technical solutions for hydrogen storage. The purpose of the screening was to identify which technical storage solutions to prioritise for updating Energinet Elsystemansvar A/S and the Danish Energy Agency’s technology catalogue for energy storage.
In today’s Danish energy system there is only a very limited application of hydrogen and hydrogen storage. However, hydrogen may play an important role to further the green transition.
Based on the screening, Ea Energy Analyses recommended that both long-term and short-term storage be considered in the catalogues, and that technologies under development were considered, if resources allowed for it.
The project ran from October 2018 to February 2019.
