In this project, a report was prepared for the Nordic Electricity Market Group in the Nordic Council of Ministers. The report presents a number of quantitative analyses focusing on economic gains and losses from electricity trade, together with results of two interview rounds with stakeholders from the transmission system operators, regulators, and national producer associations in each country.
Eight proposed steps for improved congestion management and cost allocation in the Nordic power market were developed. Some of the analyses was done using the electricity market model Balmorel.
