The district heating customers of the future in the capital area

Denmark | November 2020 - March 2021

The project “Future district heating supply in the capital area 2050” (FFH50) is carried out by the supply companies CTR, HOFOR, VEKS and Vestforbrænding. In the project, scenarios for the future district heating system are analysed and work is carried out on the following themes: System and technology, low temperature and intelligent control, co-driving of systems, combination of sectors, and the customers of the future.

PlanEnergi and Ea Energy Analyses have aided FFH50 with analyses of the capital area’s district heating customers of the future. The task included uncovering the competitiveness of district heating compared to individual heating, an overview of new customers from conversions and new buildings, and to give an idea of the customer and service portfolio of the future.

The project ran from November 2020 to March 2021.

Ea has been involved with the publication of a brief for the FFH50 project, this can be downloaded on this page (in Danish). For additional publications, go to this page.
