Ea Energy Analyses is participating in a research project about development and testing of a flow battery based solely on fungal quinones. Aalborg University is the lead on the project, and the role of Ea is to prepare an economic analysis of the possibilities for using the battery in the electricity grid. Production and maintenance costs are used to determine the potential of commercialising the fungal flow battery.
At the end of the project, all results will be gathered and used to benchmark the optimal fungal flow battery against batteries in current use.
The project runs from August 2019 to December 2021.
