Economic analysis of the SkyClean technology

Denmark | October 2020 - January 2021

Stiesdal Fuel Technologies develops the so-called SkyClean technology. This technology consists of heating up biomass in a reactor, for instance straw pellets, to 500-600 degrees, whereby a conversion into biochar, gas and oil occurs. Biochar can be added to farming land as a soil improver and as carbon storage, and the gas and oil can be treated further or used directly as renewable energy (RE) fuels, depending on the quality.

Ea Energy Analyses has carried out an economic analysis of the technology and as a part of this, Ea carried out a calculation of the total carbon displacement cost.

The project was carried out for Stiesdal Fuel Technologies, and it ran from October 2020 to January 2021.
