Fjernvarme Fyn has prepared a scenario analysis for phasing out coal on block 7 at Fynsværket power plant in Odense.
Ea Energy Analyses contributed with scenario calculations for quality assurance with the electricity and district heating model Balmorel.
The main purpose was to find the total cost to cover a given heat demand during the period 2020-2040, and analyse the pattern of operations of the new technologies and their interaction with the electricity and district heating grid. The model results were then included in an economic comparison of the analyses.
The project ran from August to November 2019.
