The impact of the EU climate targets on the Danish export of energy technologies

Denmark | December 2020 - February 2021

In December 2020, the EU agreed on increasing the ambitions for reduction of the total greenhouse gas emissions in the EU, so that the target is now a 55% reduction by 2030.

Related to this, Ea Energy Analyses has investigated which consequences a more ambitious target for energy efficiencies (EE) in the EU can have for Danish export of EE-technologies and solutions.

Regardless of which policy tools or measures that are chosen to meet the 55% reduction goal, the raised target is expected to involve more investments in EE-technologies and thereby lead to an increase of Danish EE-export.

The project was carried out for SYNERGI (Danish energy interest organisation) and ran from December 2020 to February 2021.
