In this project, Ea Energy Analyses carried out an analysis of the waste area on behalf of HOFOR (the utility company for the capital).
In the district heating system of the metropolitan area, up to a third of the heating is produced at waste incineration plants, and both the available amounts and prices of the fuels for the plants are therefore of great importance to the competition in the joint daily dispatch.
In the project it was investigated how big the local amounts of waste were expected to be going forward, and prognoses for both amounts and prices of both imported waste and biomass waste, with emphasis on the period up to 2030, were prepared.
The project ran from March to October 2019.
