As part of the technical assistance provided to the National Treasury of South Africa, Ea Energy Analyses was asked to calculate the expected levelised cost of wind power in South Africa in 2011.
The levelised cost was calculated using pricing data from the IEA Wind Task 26: Cost of Wind Power and engineering models to determine the effect of increased performance of wind turbines on the levelised cost of generation.
