Economic and technical assistance for smaller Danish CHP plants

Heating | November 2017 - January 2020

With the expiry of the economic support by the end of 2018, many district heating plants in Denmark experienced a significant price increase, unless other initiatives were taken to reduce the heat price.

Ea Energy Analyses, together with NIRAS, PlanEnergi and BDO, formed a team of consultants that advised the most economically vulnerable, smaller Danish CHP plants. The team consulted on how the economy could be improved, for example by investing in production facilities, increasing the number of consumers, optimizing the district heating network, savings on operation costs and cooperation with other district heating plants.

Ea Energy Analyses contributed specifically to the coordination of the project with the Danish Energy Agency, stakeholder meetings, as well as analysis and reporting across the district heating plants.
