IEA Wind task 51 – forecasting

Wind and solar power | July 2022 - March 2025

IEA Wind is an international cooperation with the purpose of sharing information and research activities to advance wind energy deployment. There are currently 24 countries and sponsor members.

The work is divided into different tasks, each focusing on a specific subject area. Task 51 concerns forecasting for the weather-driven energy system. The Danish participation in Task 51 is carried out by a consortium, led by DTU Wind Energy (operating agent). Ea Energy Analyses is part of the consortium and contributes with application of forecasts. Specifically, Ea is developing a model of scheduling a hybrid asset of wind power, electrolyser, and hydrogen storage.

The current work runs over a four-year period from 2022 to 2025.
